Creating an Event

1 Craft a Book & Quill (a book, ink sac, and feather). Write on the first page in this format:

Event: Harvest Day
Date: 24-02-2026
Time: 8pm EST
Place: Keadin's Farm

Your description goes here.
Extra pages also become part of the description.

2 Sign the book. Press "Sign & Close" and give it a title. Your name becomes the event author.

3 Place the signed book on a Lectern. Put down a Lectern block (crafted from 4 Wooden Slabs + a Bookshelf), then right-click it while holding the signed book.

4 Done! The scanner picks it up within a minute. If the Place matches a Travel Guide locale, the coordinates are shown automatically.

Tips

📅 Date should be written in DD-MM-YYYY format.

🕐 Time should include a timezone, e.g. 8pm EST or 7am CST. Shown exactly as you write it.

📍 Place names that match a Travel Guide locale will show coordinates on the event card.

🗑 To remove an event, take the book off the Lectern.

Note: Only signed books on Lecterns are detected. Books in chests, item frames, or unsigned books will be ignored. The scanner runs every minute.

How do waypoints work?

Using this Travel Guide

⚲ Pin locations by clicking a row. Pinned places stay at the top of the list (stored in your browser).

⌕ Search across all dimensions at once. The dimension filter is ignored while searching. The list auto-refreshes every minute with the latest data from the server.

👤 Players nearby will show when a player is online and within 200 blocks of a waypoint. Their avatar appears next to it with a green dot. Locations with nearby players are sorted higher in the list.

Adding a Waypoint

1 Place a Lodestone block anywhere in the world. Lodestones are crafted from an Iron Ingot surrounded by Chiseled Stone Bricks.

2 Use a Compass on the Lodestone. Right-click the Lodestone while holding a Compass. It becomes a Lodestone Compass that points to that block.

3 Rename the Compass on an Anvil to give your location a name, e.g. My Castle. This is how the Travel Guide gets the name for each waypoint.

4 Keep the Compass anywhere in the world. In your inventory, a chest, or an item frame. The scanner checks everywhere.

Note: The server scans the world every minute. New or moved Lodestones will appear here automatically within a couple of minutes.

Write journal entries in-game and they will appear here on the website under your player name.

Writing a Journal Entry

1 Craft a Book & Quill (book + ink sac + feather).

2 Write on the first page starting with this header:

Journal: My First Day

Your story goes here.
Continue across as many pages as you like.

3 Sign the book. Press "Sign & Close" and give it any title. Your player name becomes the author.

4 Keep it anywhere. Your inventory, a chest, ender chest, shulker box, bundle, or item frame. The scanner finds it wherever it is.

5 Done! The scanner picks it up within a minute and it appears on this page.

Tips

📝 You can use Journal: or Diary: as the header. Both work.

📖 Multiple entries are supported. Each signed book is a separate journal entry.

🔥 To delete an entry, destroy the book. Toss it in lava, drop it on a cactus, or use any other destructive method. Once the book is gone, the entry is removed from the website on the next full scan.

Note: Only signed books are detected. Unsigned Book & Quills are ignored. The first page must start with Journal: or Diary: followed by a title.

How does photo capture work?

Photo Capture System

1 Name an Armor Stand. Use an Anvil to rename an Armor Stand to whatever you'd like the camera to be called, e.g. My Base.

2 Place the Armor Stand. Position it wherever you want the camera to be. The stand's facing direction becomes the camera angle.

3 Wait for the nightly scan. Each night, the server discovers every named Armor Stand in the world and renders a ray-traced photo from its viewpoint using Chunky.

4 Browse the gallery. New photos appear here automatically. Click any card to open the viewer and browse the full capture history with the arrow keys.

Tips

📷 Camera angle is determined by the direction the Armor Stand faces when placed.

🎨 Multiple cameras can share the same name. Their photos will interleave into one combined history.

🌐 All dimensions are scanned — Overworld, Nether, and The End.

📍 Travel Guide link: if the Armor Stand's name matches a Travel Guide location, a photo icon will appear on that location's row linking to its gallery.

Note: Renders happen only when no players are online, so gameplay is never affected. Each photo is a ray-traced 1280×720 snapshot.
